Poster for Camp Meeting

Poster designed for Camp Meeting at my church, Faith Christian Church and International Outreach Center (long name, take breath! -- But anyway, i love it there!)

I recently began designing event posters for my church. Its a little different than what I'm used to, I guess because of the client and audience that I have to consider. Its a challenge, and sometimes a compromise because my style is so different (and sometimes odd)--BUT I like a challenge! and opportunities to try something new

I think you should let a bit of your freshness come out some more. That's what's so unique about having you do half, a portion, whatever you want to call it, of the promotions. You're so different from me and I LOVE IT! I LOVE YOUR STUFF. The giraffe thing is so cool just the way it is. I love the simplicity. But then I know what you're saying about having to keep the "client" in mind. I think you should do some women's stuff. I think you could really shine with that. Next women's conference - it's all you! Pastor Brooks showed me some stuff from Park Valley church (just add a .com to check out their website) so anyway, I am realizing that I basically suck as a graphic designer - I say that laughing and with a humble attitude. I think I show my age a bit. I need to gain some freshness, newness without losing me. But I think you should definitely let more of YOU come out in whatever you're doing.

Pastor Brooks is rethinking the layout of the bulletin to an 8.4 x 14 in layout... basically is has a extra 3 inch fold in flap. I'd love to get together and pick your brain for ideas - fresh funky ideas. The old people don't like it (because I've heard it - hahaha) but times are a changin'.

Keep in mind Saturday, Sept 24th for a working marketing meeting - a roll your sleeves up and really plan out some things kind of meeting.

love ya girl - you are so special and talented! Don't be discouraged or overwhelmed. You are doing a wonderful job and it is much appreciated!

Carrie :)

Reading that was such a blessing and I appreciate all that you said so, so much. I'm thankful for your understanding of me as an artist and your encouragement to lay it all on the table and not hold back at all. I actually need to hear that at this time, so again, thank you.
I would absolutely love to create the materials for the next womens conference! I actually never even thought about that. It would be fulfilling in so many ways!

And we all have room to learn and grow and i think it all begins with realizing that first and learning in what ways to do so. I'd love to get with you sometime and talk about absolutely whatever, whether it be spiritual, art related, life, fast food...lol whatever. Just let me know when and where and we'll make it happen!
I'll be sure to be at the next marketing meeting also. Its exciting that they're looking to make some changes. I believe it all be for the better :)

love you too.
